As a breeder, a litter of puppies in a 24/7 job! We have watched these puppies grow and develop their own individual personalities over time. We watch them interact with mom, each other, and as they get older children on a daily basis. We note their reactions to noises, other dogs, people, and their environment. We get to see them at different times of the day under different situations and in different environments. No one knows each puppy’s temperament and personality better than the person responsible for their care during the first 8 to 10 weeks of their lives.
We have a Simply Standards Questionaire that we have all of our potential buyers complete to help us get to know you and your family better. By providing this information you give us a great picture of your lifestyle and what you are looking for in your puppy. For example, an active young family may be looking for a more outgoing and energetic rough and ready puppy that can keep up with their busy lifestyle and young children. Another couple may be an older couple without children looking for a calm laid laid-back pup that enjoys calmer activities. Either way, we are here to connect the best family to the best pup.
In the past, a family may have gone to visit the breeder to see all the pups, stay for a few hours, and pick a pup. It didn’t really give you a good opportunity to match the personalities. Short visits just aren’t enough time to get a true picture of a pup’s personality.
